I will use the nas in a home environment and I will need features such as USB drive copy button. Silent while not reading or writing to the drive. for data redundancy, the important data can be copied to an external USB drive, or manually backed up to a cd(so I don't need data redundancy until I run out of storage and buy another HDD) The speed of the nas is not very important but it shud not be slow either.

Synology DS220j and DS420j models are very good budget options. You might even still find the old x18 series for cheaper. They are power efficient and you can also enable the hibernation option when NAS is not in use. Either way, WD Red drives would be quite thanks to their slower spin-rate. But you can start with just a few drives and add more drives later to a live system.I hope this helps.
