Upgrade NAS?

#1
Looking to upgrade as the existing setup is busting at the seams. (85% utilization) currently using an 8, and a 4 in a non-raid configuration. thinking of a 4 bay with 4, 8 tb drives raid 5?

Yes, having two separate drives with no RAID can be dangerous if not backed up. Having a 4 bay system with RAID5 combines maximum storage space and performance. You should be looking at models with graphics chip built inside such as DS420+/ TS-451D2 as a basic option or DS920+ / TS-453D as a more future proof choice.Plus series and Qnap D series will not limit your NAS of what it can do. All apps will be available and will run smoothly. The choice is between Synology software and Qnap configurability.I hope this helps.
