Backup setup and upgrade storage

Trying to set up external unit as full backup and another as upgrade storage unit. Im trying to setup the backup first but stuck as how to use dx115 to back up 20tbs Synology NAS d1520+ unit. Im running out of storage in the d1520+ unit and would like to add another NAS external unit to increase storage capacity/. Thank you so much for all your help
