Video editing

#1
Hello,
I've been looking for a network storage device which is fast enough to edit 4k video of from (premiere/fcpx/avid), and is an easy way to have a little redundancy and having options for expansion later on. It has to act as an external disk if thats possible, or does that demand a difficult setup? And do i need 10gbe and extra nvme-memory? At this point i figured the Synoligy DS1821+ could be the one, or is it not?

Thanks!

Yes, ds1821+ could support even two 4k editors. NVme cache is also useful since all repeatedly accessed data will be kept on SSD.
You will have two ways to connect. You can connect SMB/AFP share as a network drive (similar to USB). Or you can connect as ISCI. This will make that drive appear as an internal hard drive.

I hope this helps.
