Ds920+ or ds923+

#1
Hey Nas Compares
I liked your video
currently I have a ds415+ with 8gb ram and 4 x 3tb WD RED hd With hybrid raid but
I have started to get video lagging and buffering especially after dsm 7
i want it replaced it and it can only be updated to 7.1
I mostly only use it for ds video and the client side is Apple TV and it is both local and internet (300/300Mbit)
I've tried using plex but it uses about 90% of the cpu on a movie compared to ds video it uses max 10% cpu
I also like the user interface better on ds video
my video is converted to mp4 in 1080p as it cannot run 4k
you disagree a little with each other on whether you should choose ds920+ or wait for ds923+
I think that DSM is a really good operating system
I would like to hear from you about what I should choose?
and which hd should I choose, it will probably be 4 x 4tb
I look forward to hearing from you
Sincerely
Claus

If you access your videos remotely ds923+ will not be a good choice. It can not transcode 4k. If you only keep a 1080p copy, this NAS can handle this.
Otherwise, you can only stream videos locally in your home and not over the internet.
Before a new models is released you can still get ds920+ which supports 4k remotely. This is a much better choice.

I hope this helps.
