Switching from Synology to Terramaster F6-424 Max is a solid choice! For expanding your storage beyond the main unit, Terramaster does support expansion units, but options are a bit limited compared to some other brands.
You can connect certain Terramaster DAS (Direct Attached Storage) units via USB or Thunderbolt, but it depends on the exact model compatibility and your connection ports. Using a DAS can be a practical way to add storage without buying a whole second NAS, but it won’t offer the same network features or redundancy as the main NAS itself.
For seamless expansion, check if Terramaster offers official expansion units compatible with the F6-424 Max, which would be ideal for maintaining consistent management and performance.
