NAS For Game servers

#1
I am wanting a good NAS to be able to run game servers inside docker containers. I also want to use Unraid just for the ease of use. This device won't be backing up any data. So something that has more than 2 or 4 cores would be great! Thanks!

For running game servers inside Docker containers, you'll want a NAS with a decent multi-core CPU to handle the workload efficiently. Based on your game server requirements, I recommend considering these QNAP models, which offer powerful processors:

1. QNAP TS-673A
CPU: AMD Ryzen R1600 (4 cores, 8 threads)
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (expandable)
Storage: 6TB (expandable)
Features:
The Ryzen processor is great for multitasking and running game servers inside Docker containers.
Supports expandable RAM for future upgrades if needed.
Has excellent multi-core performance and PCIe slots for expansion.
A solid choice for handling heavier workloads like gaming servers and virtual machines.
2. QNAP TS-874
CPU: Intel Core i3-8100 (4 cores, 4 threads)
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (expandable)
Storage: 6TB (expandable)
Features:
The Intel Core i3 processor offers good performance for running multiple Docker containers, making it great for gaming and other virtualized tasks.
It has more powerful hardware than many entry-level models, so it should easily handle your game server needs.
3. QNAP TVS-1288x (or newer 88X series)
CPU: Intel Core i5/i7 (up to 6 cores, 12 threads)
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (expandable)
Storage: 6TB (expandable)
Features:
Intel Core i5/i7 processors provide robust performance for more demanding game servers and virtualized environments.
The 8-bay configuration allows for plenty of storage space and scalability.
Supports HDMI output and PCIe slots for expansion.
Ideal if you anticipate running more resource-intensive games or multiple servers.
