NON SYNOLOGY SSD AS STORAGE POOL

Hello guys. You are the best resource online for a nas noobie like me i bouth the ds923+ and am waiting for my iron wolfs to arrive for raid 1. Got 2 1tb sn770 as well with the idea to use them as storage pools for the apps(missed to check that this is not possible with non synology drives) i hope this will work but wondered if you have tested it?
