NAS & Mac Mini

#1
Just watched this video and had a question...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVWZHyjE284

Why not combine both a NAS and an old Mac Mini...

MAC as the server, and NAS as the file storage? doesnt this give best of both worlds? Assuming power consumption is not a concern?

Absolutely, leveraging both a NAS and an old Mac Mini for your setup can indeed provide the best of both worlds, especially if power consumption is not a concern. This approach allows you to utilize the Mac Mini as a server while employing the NAS for efficient file storage. Many users opt for a similar configuration, and it's a smart choice. Additionally, you can consider alternatives like a NUC PC or an NVIDIA Shield TV to link with the NAS. Given your scenario, you can go for a more budget-friendly NAS model, which aligns with your need for 16 TB of storage. This way, you can create a versatile and cost-effective system that suits your requirements.
