dying NAS

#1
Have been in the DROBO environment, but now need to move on as my Drobo5N2 is failing. Looking for advice as to the suitability of (6 bay) Synology or QNAP. Recommended NVME M.2 SSD, RAID, hot swapability for upgrade disks, etc. I intend starting with spare 10TB IronWolf and growing as data migrates and disks are redeployed from failing DROBO (currently migrating data in blocks, between each unscheduled powerdown)

You can go for Synology 6 bay options here https://www.synology.com/en-uk/products?...top&bays=6
Or if you prefer a graphics engine to be built in then Qnap x64/ x74 series NAS here https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/product/?conditions=0-6,3-3
More info about caching here https://nascompares.com/answer/best-nvme...r-caching/
You can start with a couple of drives and add more as you go. Synology plus series also allow different drive size mixing.
