Yes, DS720+ is a very good NAS. It will not be around foe long. The 23+ models will have a 10GbE port but no multimedia support. If you often share videos remotely, this function would be handy.
Otherwise, Synology allows password protect files and folders when you share them. Also quick connect function makes sharing easier without a need to compromise the local network with port forwarding.
