His options are limited to Routers that can take a SIM card. He is interested in getting an escape road city 2 Asus gaming Router to take advantage of its hardware and software features. The issue is the Asus Router does not have a SIM card slot. Could he potentially use a SIM Card Router like the Nighthawk M6 5G and enable bridge mode then connect it to the Asus router's WAN port to act as a modem? The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 also supports 4G / 5G Auto Mobile Tethering through USB so I am guessing that might work as a backup.

Yes, your friend can definitely use a SIM card router like the Nighthawk M6 5G in bridge mode to connect to the WAN port of the Asus gaming router. This setup would allow the Nighthawk to function as the modem, providing internet access to the Asus router, which would then manage the network and utilize its gaming features.
Additionally, using the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 with 4G/5G auto mobile tethering through USB as a backup is a good idea. This way, if the primary connection fails, he can switch to the backup option seamlessly. Just ensure that the Asus router is properly configured to handle the connection from the SIM card router or the USB tethering.
