I have used Synology for many years and found that separating RAID (mdadm) and file system (BTRFS) makes the system stable. I hope UGOS takes a similar approach. If they only use BTRFS to manage both RAID, I will have to think carefully before investing, because reliability is the most important factor in a data storage system.
