NAS upgrade for Plex

#2
For your media streaming needs, you may want to consider a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device with a powerful processor and plenty of memory. Both the Synology DS920+ and some of the QNAP NAS devices you mentioned should be able to handle the tasks you've described.

The Synology DS920+ is a 4-bay NAS device with an Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core processor and 4GB of DDR4 memory (expandable to 8GB). It has a hardware transcoding engine that can handle 4K video and supports H.265 (HEVC) playback. It also has support for streaming media to multiple devices simultaneously, and it can be accessed remotely for streaming at 1080p.

This model might not be available for much longer. It will do what you want. Otherwise, you can get Qnap 53d or 64 series NAS which also has Celeron CPU.

I hope this helps.
