Seeking NAS of pcie 4 type

#1
Hi, can you suggest a NAS that's PCIe4+ for storing files?
I was considering putting in 4*4TB nvme's inside, so I have plenty of space.
I was toying with the idea of a 4 nvme card to go into a pcie slot but not sure if my MSI mobo will do the 4x4x4x4 required.
Any recommendations would be most welcome.
Thanks, Nick.??

If your MSI board does support x4x4x4x4 bifurcation, the ASUS Hyper M.2 Gen4 card is a fantastic bang-for-buck solution.

If not, and you’re serious about performance/expansion, consider:

A workstation/server board with full PCIe bifurcation support

Or a smart RAID NVMe card like the HighPoint SSD7540

Most motherboards don’t offer four full-speed PCIe 4.0 x4 slots simultaneously due to CPU and chipset lane limitations.

You can add an NVMe RAID or expansion card (PCIe 4.0 x16 or x8) to multiply NVMe slots.

Make sure your CPU supports PCIe 4.0 (AMD Ryzen 3000 series or newer, Intel 11th Gen Rocket Lake or newer).

For your NAS, consider if all drives need PCIe 4.0 or if some PCIe 3.0 NVMe slots are fine — it might reduce costs.
