Looking to buy

#1
I Let me start by saying I've been watching your youtube channel for a couple of years now and I love the detailed reviews you do. I'm looking to buy a new NAS server for home. I've had 2 QNAP servers in the past a TS639 Pro and a TS419 PII. We primarirly use it to store important home files and documents and lots of home videos and photos. My wife being a photographer has been doing a lot on it and I'm looking to get a replacement. I have been eyeing the QNAP ts464 with all its upgradeable perks and was wondering if you would recommend anything better that won't break the bank. I would like something with the following: 4bays that can handle RAID 5 and has Nvme cache options. If you could recommend one I would trully be appreciative.

Thank you
Darren

Thank you for your kind words about my YouTube channel; I'm glad you find the reviews helpful!

Based on your requirements for a 4-bay NAS that supports RAID 5 and NVMe cache options, the QNAP TS-464 is indeed a strong contender. It features an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM (expandable), and two M.2 NVMe slots for caching, which can significantly enhance read/write performance.

Another great option to consider is the Synology DiskStation DS923+. This model offers a quad-core AMD Ryzen processor, 4GB of RAM (expandable up to 32GB), and supports NVMe SSD caching via its M.2 slots. Synology's DSM operating system is known for its user-friendly interface and robust ecosystem of applications.

Both options are well-suited for storing large volumes of photos and videos, and they support RAID 5 configurations. Your choice may ultimately depend on your preference for the operating system and specific features.
