Video editing off NAS

Two questions: First, when editing off the NAS, is the editing software like Davinci Resolve installed on the NAS or the computer? Second, we need to have two computers connected to a QNAP TVS-h674 and work at the same time. Will the i3 version or the i5 version make a difference in our use case? Is the i5 version worth it? Thanks!

Yes, i5 is more powerful. When connecting via 10GbE this can be beneficial. NAS is just like USB drive, all software lives on a PC.
Each computer connects directly or via switch.
