I would like a NAS strictly for a media server. I would like to use RAID to have redundant backup of my 20 TB media library. I also have nvidia shield pro that I could possibly run NAS thru for transcoding. What NAS would you recommend

I would get ds418 or ds420+. If shieldTV is doing all the heavy lifting then any NAS can be used as a source location for files.
But if you do need remote access, ds418 supports 4k via Synology video app.
