I can definitely help you with that! To sync your Synology 923+ with your friend's Synology 923+ while keeping him out of your network, you can use Synology Drive ShareSync. This application is designed specifically for syncing data across multiple Synology NAS devices and is automatically installed with the Synology Drive Server package in DSM.

Here’s a quick overview of how it works:

Local Synology NAS: This is the NAS you’re currently operating on. It will sync data with your friend's NAS.
Remote Synology NAS: This is your friend's Synology NAS that you want to sync with.
Local folders: These are the shared folders on your NAS that will be synced.
Remote folders: These are the shared folders on your friend's NAS that will receive the synced data.
You can find detailed instructions on setting it up here: Synology Drive ShareSync Guide.

If you're also considering using Tailscale, it allows secure remote access without exposing your network, but Synology Drive ShareSync should cover your needs directly for syncing.
