HDD compatibility

#1
Hello,
I am a little bit confused because the Seagate Ironwolf Pro Version with Model Number ST12000NT001 does not show up in the compatibility list from Terramaster.
Other versions like the 22 and 24 TB version of the NT versions does.
I wrote to Terramaster and got just the answer to look into the compatibility list which doesn’t help.
Now I hope that you can help me with your experience if the NT versions of Seagate Ironwolf work proper with Terramaster NAS or if I should change my order to NE versions to be save because i have the doubt that a return of already unpacked HDD‘s would get complicated when I would test them in Terramaster NAS F4-424 Pro.
Many thanks in advance an keep goining with your Channel and your Website, your doing great stuff.

Thanks for reaching out! I understand your concern about the compatibility of the Seagate IronWolf Pro ST12000NT001 with your Terramaster F4-424 Pro, especially since it doesn’t appear on the official compatibility list.

From my experience and feedback from others, the NT versions of the Seagate IronWolf drives, including the ST12000NT001, generally work well with Terramaster NAS units. While it’s true that not every drive version is officially listed, Terramaster often supports a wider range of drives than their compatibility list shows.

That said, to be on the safe side, if you have doubts or if the return process may be complicated after opening the drives, you might want to consider the NE versions, which are officially supported and would give you peace of mind. Both versions offer similar performance, so it comes down to whether you’re comfortable with a little uncertainty or prefer the extra assurance of compatibility.
