Greeting. I want to upgrade my current HDD in TS-253A from WD Red 2TB x 2 to WD UltraStar 16TB x 2 running in Raid 1. However this drive is not in the QNAP compatibility list, but the same drive seems to be compatible with other 2-bay QNAP NAS. Do you think I should still go ahead or choose a drive that shows in the Compatibility List to prevent potential issues?

Yes, you can proceed with upgrading your current HDDs in the TS-253A to WD UltraStar 16TB drives, even if they are not listed in the QNAP compatibility list. It's important to note that NAS brands often do not update their compatibility lists frequently, and newer drives may still be compatible even if they are not specifically listed. WD UltraStar drives are generally known for their reliability and performance, and if they are compatible with other 2-bay QNAP NAS models, it is likely that they will work well with your TS-253A in a RAID 1 configuration.
