Hardware restrictions PCI lanes NVMe on TS 464

Hi there Ed,

In your newer video about the TS-464 NAS at 495 seconds you mention the hardware restrictions of the PCI lane, and that one could only get 1000mbit/s or 2000mbit/s to NVMe card:

I have these NVMe cards that I solely want to use for cache:

Western Digital WD Black SN850 NVMe SSD 2 Terabyte

On the box it says: "Up to 7000 MB/s Read".

Would the TS-464 still be a worthwhile investment? What is next in range that could be strong and faster than the TS-464?

I would go Synology but our local suppliers in South Africa seems to be more familiar with QNAP.

Yes, this NAS comes with PCIe 3.x (8.0 GT/s) 2GB/s
If you want to make use of full NVme speed, you will need to consider NAS with faster M.2 slots https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/product/tvs-h...s/hardware
It comes with:
