I want to build a NAS primarily for video and audio media for my home. I use a Hisense TV running Android with an attached sound bar as my primary playback device.

For local streaming, you can use a simple NAS such as DS118 or DS218. You can set it up as DLNA / Plex server and this will allow your TV to access all media files. You will also get additional things like mobile apps for remote access. I hope this helps.
