Would like to acquire a NAS mainly for music streaming, photos and videos storage. I am concerned about the life cycle of the DS-218+and I am sure the performance will not be an issue. Should I wait for the DS-220+, but at what price? Thanks.

New DS220+ will be out in a month or two, but the performance increase might not benefit you if all you wanna do is store the multimedia and not transcode.The new model will be priced very similar to the old model. And now they will start to discount the old models. So this could be a bargain time.I hope this helps.
