Western digital 4TB SD card

#1
Western digital will be releasing a 4TB Sd card in 2025, you can Google this…

My question, could you or would it be possible to populate a NAS with some sort of adapter with these SD cards?

What would the performance be like in a RAID

The price point may be cheaper than 4TB NVME drives… When compared to HDD’s there would be less noise, heat , power consumption.

I may be be completely of my rocker and this is the dumbest question…

Just finished watching the review of the 24TB Seagate and thought of this..

Thank you for sharing the news about Western Digital's upcoming 4TB SD card. While the idea of populating a NAS with SD cards is intriguing, it's currently not a feasible option due to several limitations. SD cards are primarily designed for use in portable devices and lack the robustness, performance, and compatibility required for NAS environments. While it's an interesting concept, there are practical challenges such as adapter compatibility, performance considerations, and long-term reliability issues that need to be addressed before such a setup could be viable.
