Server Information

#1
Hi,
I work for Security Engineers Inc. in Birmingham, AL. I saw your video about Rack Mount Servers. I was wondering if I could get some general information about how to pick a server for camera systems.

When it comes to choosing a server for camera systems, there are several factors to consider. Firstly, the number of free camera licenses available is important. For local use, most NAS options can suffice, but the "plus" series is recommended for added performance. If remote CCTV access is a requirement, a server with a built-in graphics chip would be beneficial. QNAP offers rack servers with Celeron processors, while Synology focuses on desktop models with GPU support. QNAP often provides more free camera licenses compared to Synology. However, Synology is known for its advanced CCTV software. To make an informed decision, assess your specific needs and weigh the features of both QNAP and Synology offerings.
