Hey there! It's great to hear that you're considering an upgrade for your NAS setup. Both the DS423+ and DS923+ offer significant improvements over your current DS218+, but let's break down their differences to help you make an informed decision.

The DS423+ is a fantastic choice if you're primarily focused on multimedia tasks like watching movies using DS Video. With its powerful quad-core Intel Celeron J4125 CPU and built-in transcoding engine, it can handle multimedia streaming with ease, providing smooth playback both at home and on the go. Plus, its 4-bay design offers ample storage expansion options, allowing you to store a larger library of movies and media files.

On the other hand, if you're looking for even more performance and versatility, the DS923+ might be the better option for you. Equipped with an AMD Ryzen R1600 CPU and 4 GB of DDR4 ECC RAM, it offers superior processing power and multitasking capabilities compared to the DS423+. This makes it ideal not only for multimedia streaming but also for virtualization and other demanding tasks. Additionally, its 4-bay design provides plenty of storage flexibility, allowing you to expand your storage capacity as needed.
