JBOD - Enquiries - 10-31-2023 I recently bought a 5-bay and a 10-bay JBOD enclosures made by Sabrent. Unfortunately, they died at about the 30-day mark and Amazon refunded my money. Perhaps I bought my 9 20TB Seagate EXOS drives prior to buying the enclosure and, now, I find that most JBOD enclosures out there (nominally) max at 18TB drives. Bottom line, I'm stuck with the drives and can't find a box to put them in. When I saw this Terramaster T12-423, I thought it might fit the bill. . . except for the price. Can you justify why it's worth the money or recommend another box within my budget, please? Thanks for your help. Lawrence Stevens RE: JBOD - ed - 11-03-2023 Yes, DAS boxes often have 18TB limit, simply because at the time of release this was the biggest drives. You can use the Terramaster you mentioned or other DAS with bigger drives if you want to. |
