Excessive cache on QNAP? - SJG - 10-07-2023 I recently installed some extra RAM on my QNAP TS-453D (yes I'm aware the recommended max is 8gb) and once I restarted and was nsure checking the resource monitor to ensure it was being recognised properly I noticed that it was showing a cache of over 3gb - is this usual? also is there any guide on how to clear cache and/or trace what is causing such a huge cache to accrue? I've included a screenshot of the resource monitor for reference. RE: Excessive cache on QNAP? - ed - 10-10-2023 QTS is not as efficient as DSM. Often it uses more resources than needed. Maybe drop a line at Qnap maybe they have suggestions. RE: Excessive cache on QNAP? - SJG - 10-16-2023 Will do, thanks RE: Excessive cache on QNAP? - SJG - 10-24-2023 Just to update, I asked on the QNAP forums as you suggested and one user linked me thisĀ https://www.linuxatemyram.com/ It appears it is more of a Linux thing than a QTS thing per se. Anyway, hope this helps others if they have a similar situation. |
