DVA1622 Review - Enquiries - 06-30-2023 I watch your DVA1622 review recently (great work by the way) and have a question about something you mentioned at around the 7:45 mark related to SSDs. I have 2 x 14tb WD Red Pro drives in my 1622 and was considering moving to 2 x 4tb WD Red SSDs in hopes of improving system performance. But, based on what I gathered from your video, I shouldn’t expect to see a lot of performance improvements with SSDs. Would you mind explaining why? I currently have 4 - 4k 30fps cameras that record continuously. RE: DVA1622 Review - ed - 07-04-2023 Sorry, for the confusion. SSD will surely improve the performance in every possible way (IOPS and general data transfer speeds). The only thing you may worry about is the general LAN bottleneck. 1Gbit LAN only mean 100MB/s transfer speeds. But it is possible to use 5GbE USB LAN adapter. |
