Synology NAS for google photos replacement - Enquiries - 05-23-2023 Hi guys, I have a DS920+ system set up for PLEX and for backing up laptops and phones etc but I want a separate system to use exclusively for photo cloud storage so I can dump google photos. So far I like Synology photos and want to continue in that ecosystem. I am considering the ds9223+ with two 8TB drives in SHR to start and then backing it up to the ds920+. I like the future proofing the DS923+ provides. Is this foolish? Or will it be good for a photo NAS. thanks! RE: Synology NAS for google photos replacement - ed - 05-26-2023 Yes, you could get ds923+ if eventually, you plan on using 10gbe or nvme pools. Otherwise, you could as well get ds423 or any value series NAS for this. If you have a large photo library then plus series will index faster. |
