QNAP Backup Functionality - Enquiries - 04-19-2023
Good day guys, hope your doing well. I have 3 quick questions:
1. Does the “Backup & Restore” in QNAP HBS3 do backups in a way where it captures the OS, installed apps, app settings/configs so lets say God forbid there is a system crash or ransomware you can actually restore the entire system from backup without having to reinstall apps & reconfigure them?
2. If HBS3 doesn’t accomplish my above mentioned question. Does Snapshots accomplish it?
3. If neither Snapshots or HBS does this what can be used on a QNAP to get this done?

No, HBS or snapshots will only back up data and settings. Not actual OS.
You could consider Acronis somehow installed via SSH as Linus is the backbone.
