New HDD for Synology NAS - Enquiries - 03-08-2023

In Dec 2017 I bought Synology DS218+ and 2x Seagate IronWolf ST8000VN004 8TB
Now, these HDD are full and need to be replaced, mainly because of my RAW images (I'm a photographer).
What would be the best upgrade? I'm thinking about 16/18/20TB where I find 20TB money wise a bit much and I don't know if my NAS allows 20TB.
The NAS still works, or do you think it's better to upgrade the complete set? NAS + HDD.

Thanks!
Kim

DS218+ has been tested with 16TB drives https://www.synology.com/en-uk/compatibility?search_by=products&model=DS218%2B&category=hdds_no_ssd_trim&filter_type=3.5%22%20SATA%20HDD&p=1&change_log_p=1
You may not be able to use bigger drives. But with a little bit of SSH command config you may be able to make bigger drives work https://nascompares.com/answer/hdd-compatibility-warning-way-to-disable-it-synology-storage-manager-will-display-an-incompatible-or-unverified-message/
WD Red plus seem quite and reliable. Ironwolf offers free data recovery.
DS220+ is more powerful and ds 420+ would allow few empty bays for future expansion.
