How helpful is SSD Storage Pools - newtonas - 01-10-2023
Hello, I am considering the Synology DS923+ and DS1522+. I know the differences from your videos. As of today, is there any definite answer on whether DS1522+ will have SSD Storage Pools support? Given everything the same, how much performance gain can we expect with SSD Storage Pools enabled in use cases such as: overall performance, backup, file sharing, Synology Photos? I don't use docker nor VM.

No, as a part of marketing strategy, NVMe pools will only be available on 23+ series.
For the home use you describe, NVMe pools will not be beneficial. You could as well use SATA SSD in few HDD bays to install DSM and apps on.
NVMe pool is good for 4k editing and VMs.
