SSD Cache - Enquiries - 12-30-2022

I have a new QNAP 664. I have a couple of old SSDs 180 GB and 256 GB. After my QNAP purchase, 3x 16TB drives, and 16GB RAM, I am on a budget.

Would it be worth it to install one or both SSDs for some performance boost?

Enjoy your videos very much.

Neville.

Yes, you could use those SSD for caching. They will not last long, as they are old and not geared towards that. But you could do it. Or simply use them as a separate storage volume for data you need quicker response times.

I hope this helps.
