DNS-320 NAS - Enquiries - 11-18-2024 Hi, Sorry to disturb but I’m seeing this article regarding the D-link vulnerability issue. I have a standard D-link 320 which yes, is connected to the internet. But I use it mainly to backup photos locally. I don’t have any port forwarding and as far as I know I cannot connect in anyway to it from outside my house. Would something like this still be an issue to keep? I know its old but it still works beautifully for my needs. Thanks, Robert RE: DNS-320 NAS - ed - 11-22-2024 If there are no open ports and the NAS is not accessible from outside your home network, it should be safe to continue using it. Since you're mainly using it for local backups, as long as it's not exposed to the internet, the risk of exploitation should be minimal. For extra safety, you can enable a firewall on your router to completely block internet access to the NAS. This would prevent any external connections to the device, even if there are unforeseen vulnerabilities. |
