DLNA - Enquiries - 05-10-2024

Just trying to setup a QNAP TS-233 NAS as a media server, following videos you put on YouTube a couple of years ago. I don't see DLNA server under Applications in the QTS Control Panel. Has this been moved to somewhere else?
Also (might be related), I've got the QuMagie app running, and loaded a dozen photos, but the pictures don't appear on the screen - just 12 greyed out boxes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're right, there have been some changes in the QNAP interface over the years, and DLNA server functionality might be handled differently on your TS-233 NAS. Here's how to tackle both issues:

1. DLNA Media Server:

On your TS-233, DLNA functionality might be integrated with the Multimedia Console app instead of a separate DLNA Media Server setting. Here's how to check and enable it:

Open the Control Panel on your QNAP NAS.
Navigate to Applications and then locate Multimedia Console.
Click on Multimedia Console.
Within Multimedia Console, select Overview.
Look for an option to enable DLNA Media Server. If it's disabled, click the checkbox next to it to activate it.
2. QuMagie App and Missing Photos:

The greyed-out boxes in QuMagie could be due to a couple of reasons:

Indexing in Progress: When you first add photos to QuMagie, it might take some time to process and index them. Be patient for a while, especially if you added a large number of photos.
Permissions Issue: Ensure the user account you're using has permission to access the folder containing the photos. Check the folder's permissions and grant access if necessary.
Here are some additional tips for troubleshooting QuMagie:

Refresh the QuMagie App: Try closing and reopening the QuMagie app. This can sometimes trigger a refresh and display the newly added photos.
Check QuMagie Settings: There might be filters applied in the QuMagie settings that are hiding your photos. Review the settings and ensure everything is set to display all photos.
Update QuMagie: Make sure you're running the latest version of the QuMagie app. Outdated versions might have bugs that cause display issues. Check for updates in the QNAP App Center.

Hello. I'm having the same issue as the original poster, with DLNA setting not showing up. Using a QNAP TS-262 running 5.2.0. DLNA settings do not appear in the Control Panel Applications window or in the Multimedia Consol Overview. Seem to be completely missing in 5.2.0. Any suggestions?
