SSD storage cache size - Enquiries - 05-03-2024

I have the DS1522+ with 2 500GB samsung SSD's. I was wondering if I would get more speed if I replaced those with 2 1TB SSD for caching. What are your thoughts on that.

Upgrading to 1TB SSDs for caching in your DS1522+ could potentially improve speed, especially if your current SSDs are frequently reaching their capacity limits. With larger SSDs, you'll have more space for caching frequently accessed data, reducing the need to fetch data from slower hard drives. However, the performance improvement might not be significant unless your workload involves heavy caching activity or if your current SSDs are consistently maxed out. Additionally, consider the cost and whether the performance gain justifies the investment for your specific use case.
